Job Summary
Prepares and reviews federal tax returns, provisions, and work papers involving higher degree of complexity and cost for corporate customers. Participates in federal tax planning/analysis/audit projects as senior advisor as required. Advises customer/suppliers on federal tax issues. Identifies and reports to manager/principal tax savings ideas as they arise in the compliance process. Mentors tax advisors through tax return review process. Supports other federal compliance/planning activities of Manager/Principals as required.
Key Accountabilities
-Complete federal returns, provisions, forecast or the review thereof in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.
-Contribute to successful conclusion of tax projects through application of seasoned tax research and analytical skills reflecting a sound knowledge of the business as well as tax law and procedure.
-Develops relationships with suppliers/customers/government officials to further tax and business objectives and more efficient accurate compliance process.
-Research results reflecting thorough analysis of facts and issues expected of a seasoned professional, presented in concise, thorough, yet understandable manner.
-Implement federal tax savings ideas improving corporate cash flow or earnings.
-Share knowledge and skill with tax advisors and technicians; contribute to federal tax compliance/accounting process improvements including use of technology to improve performance
-Pursue external networking and professional development
-Exhibit behaviors that demonstrate solid commitment to corporate core values.
-Lead tax advisors and technicians in compliance and planning activities to which assigned.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's Degree. Prefer Masters Degree taxation or M.B.A.
-Minimum 5 years experience as tax professional for major corporation or clientele.
- Advanced experience with federal taxation of corporations.
-Experience with ASC 740 - Accounting for Income Taxes (f/k/a FASB Statement 109) preferred.
-C.P.A. designation preferred
-Experience as lead in tax compliance or tax planning projects.
-Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others.
* Proficient verbal, non-verbal, written, and presentation skills. Superior interpersonal skills and proven ability to work well with suppliers and customers.
